holy-family-2012Christmas Message from the Pastor

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ

Today’s celebration gives us an opportunity to reflect further on the Christmas story. The readings present amazed people and shepherds.

The people were amazed, because the shepherds told them about the message they heard from the angels; and everything took place as they said. They found an infant in a manger who would be the Savior of Israel. We are very much like the shepherds. We have been called by angels to witness the miracle of God’s salvation. We may say that we don’t remember an angel coming to visit us or a heavenly host singing “Glory to God in the highest,” but at Christmas we are called by God to the manger. This is a grace. We have been called by God to witness His Presence on earth.

We are amazed, because even when life’s troubles weigh on us, we still experience the reality of God’s Presence. We know that no matter what the future holds, positive or negative, we will not face it alone. He is called Emmanuel, ‘God is with us’. His name is Jesus, the name that means ‘Yahweh saves’ us. The Almighty Creator of the Universe cares so much for each one of us that, He guides us to a life full of meaning, to a life united to His own life, to salvation. We are amazed.

With God’s Grace, during this Holy Season in the Year of Faith, we hope to experience something that has been called “the Christmas Amazement,” and to be able to share this “Special Amazement” with our brothers and sisters.

As Christmas approaches, I would like to thank all of you for your great support throughout the year of 2012. I pray that, throughout the year of 2013,  we continue to build up our community as a community of Faith, Hope, and Charity.

May the blessings and love of the infant Jesus surround you at Christmas and the coming Year.

– Fr. Joseph Tap Tran, Pastor

May God’s blessings of peace and joy be with you this Christmas season and throughout the new year!

The Office Staff

2013 Offertory Envelopes are ready for pick-up at the back of the church!

If you are a new member of our parish, and have taken a numbered, unlabelled offertory box of envelopes, please follow a few steps to ensure that your donations will be properly recorded in 2013!

Please print your full name, address, and phone number  on the offertory envelope, when making your first 3-4, 2013, donations. This will ensure that the office staff correctly record your personal information, (to ensure you receive an income tax receipt at the end of the year.)

If you want to start your donations this year (2012), please place your donation in a regular envelope, and print your full name, address and envelope number on it! (Please do not use your 2013 offertory envelopes until next year!)

New envelope users/parishioners and/or unregistered parishioners are requested to fill out a Parish Registration Form and return it.

Time to Update Our Records!

Have you moved, or are you planning to move soon?

Please let the office know to ensure that your income tax receipt gets to you!

Has the status of someone you placed on our ‘pray for the sick’ list changed?

Please let the office know.

If you have any information about your family members, who are parishioners here, that you feel the office should be made aware of, (such as a move to a LTC Home, death,  etc.), please let the office know.
