Collection for the Needs of the Church in Canada: NEXT September 23-24, 2017

Every year, the Bishops of Canada make an appeal for financial assistance to support its work through the Collection for the Needs of the Church in Canada. As noted by the President of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB), the Most Reverend Richard Smith, Archbishop of Edmonton, this collection helps support the work of the Episcopal conference by providing each diocese the means to make its annual per capita contribution to the CCCB. “Any amount exceeding this contribution is then put at the disposal of the dioceses for their own pastoral needs,” Archbishop Smith explains. The CCCB is the national assembly of Catholic Bishops in Canada, including the Eastern Catholic Churches in Canada. Through your contribution to the collection, you too can collaborate with the Bishops in their ministry to teach, sanctify and govern.

Traditional Latin Mass Our Lady of the Rosary on Saturday, October 7, 2017

there will be a Solemn Mass in the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite for the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary. A public recitation of the Holy Rosary and confession will begin at 10:00 a.m., and the Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. at St. Cecelia’s Catholic Church.

The Mass is being organised by the Knights of Columbus St. John XXIII Council 4976 and Una Voce Toronto in commemoration of  Our Lady’s of Victory at the Battle of Lepanto.

Offertory envelopes are available to all parishioners who donate to our parish during the Mass. It is your opportunity to have your donation recorded and a donation tax receipt issued to you for any donation over $20.00 by the end of the tax year.  You are not obligated to fill every envelope with a donation. It is to be used when you come to Mass and donate during the offertory. It helps the office staff to record your donations more quickly and efficiently.

We have a number of offertory boxes in the office which are not being used. If you attend Mass in our parish, and have been using Visitor envelopes, or have been giving over the years and never thought of using offertory envelopes before, please see an usher about filling out a parish registration form, even if you are registered as a parishioner, and give the completed form to an usher. There is a place at the end of the form, where you will indicate you want offertory envelopes. The office staff will contact you once your request for offertory envelopes is processed.
