World Mission Sunday 2016
October 22 and 23 2016

This year World Mission Sunday will take place on October 23. Parishes worldwide will celebrate this unique Sunday! Every Catholic across the world will have the opportunity to join in as brothers and sisters, with prayer and financial support for the poor and emerging Church.

World Mission Sunday is a global sign on the Universal Church and your donation will help provide emergency aid when disaster strikes, in caring for refugees in war torn countries, providing for rural and health clinics, and providing transportation for priests, catechists and religious/lay pastoral workers.

Please join the Universal Church’s efforts to share, with justice and fraternity, amongst all the Dioceses in the world.

World Food Day is a day of action against hunger. On October 16, people around the world come together to declare their commitment to eradicate hunger in our lifetime. Because when it comes to hunger, the only acceptable number in the world is zero.  World Food Day celebrates the creation of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, (FAO), on October 16, 1945 in Quebec, Canada. First established in 1979, World Food Day has since then been observed in almost every country by millions of people.

The Church is concerned about the issue of hunger in the world, Remembering the words of the Son of Man on the last judgment of the nations, “…I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink…” (MT 25.35)
