Let us be thankful…

Let us be thankful for the blessings we receive.
Let is be thoughtful of others.
Let us remember dear and close friends.
Let us have faith in tomorrow.
Let us live life as a Golden Rule.
Let us find sunlight through the clouds.
Let us believe.
Let us be the people we have the ability to be.
Let us have understanding.
Let us say this thanks in prayer.
To God, for the gifts He has given.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Give thanks to the Lord for He is good; His love endures forever. – Psalm 118: 1

Sunday, October 18th, 2015 is World Mission Sunday!

Next Sunday is World Mission Sunday. Your ongoing support of the Society for the Propagation of the Faith is vital to the missionaries serving in 1,150 dioceses throughout Asia, Africa, parts of Latin America and Europe, and on the islands of the Pacific. Your generosity makes it possible for local priests, religious, and catechists to reach out to communities, families and children in desperate need, bringing the light of Christ to the darkest of circumstances.

Lectio Divina with Cardinal Thomas Collins
Sunday November 1 2015, 7:00 PM – 8:15 PM
St. Peter’s Parish 840 Bathurst St., Toronto

Lectio Divina (“divine or sacred reading”) is the name given to a spiritual tradition among Christians over the last two thousand years. This form of prayer involves three distinct stages: a) reading a short scripture passage, b) reflecting on the passage, and c) a short period of silence. We begin with Vespers (evening prayer at 7:00 PM) followed by Lectio Divina from 7:30 to 8:15 PM.

All are welcome to join Cardinal Collins for this special evening of prayer.

Lectio Divina is recorded by Salt and Light Catholic Media for future broadcast. During the extensive renovations at St. Michael’s Cathedral, Lectio Divina will be traveling to parishes around the Archdiocese in 2015/2016.
