St. Cecilia’s Volunteer Screening Committee

“Strengthening the Caring Community” is the name of the Archdiocesan screening program and every parish in the Archdiocese of Toronto is legally required to implement a formal screening program for volunteers.  The Archdiocese has designed the model we shall use to create, maintain, and promote a safe environment to protect the vulnerable in out parish community, to support our volunteers, and to prevent any form of abuse.  A committee member will speak at each of next weekend’s Masses (November 23 and 24).  Our parish coordinator, Renee Achong, and members of the screening committee will be available to meet parishioners after each Mass.  We are grateful for the many parishioners who volunteer and who are generous with their time and expertise.  As we implement volunteer screening in the parish, updates will be shared with the parish publicly and through the bulletin.  Information: http://www.archtoronto.org/screeningcommittee .

Once again this year, the St. Vincent De Paul will be displaying a Christmas Tree in our Church, with dangling stars.  Each star represents a gift that can be purchased for either a teen (gift card), or family(food gift card).  Please take a star, and return it with the appropriate gift card to one of our St. Vincent De Paul representatives (donation box holders) after Masses no later than 8 December 2013.

Gift cards can be purchased at any major department store or pharmacy.  Food gift cards can be purchased at all major grocery stores.
