Today is the Feast of St. Michael the Archangel,
Patron Saint of the Archdiocese of Toronto

The name ‘Michael’ in Hebrew means “Who is like to God?”. The question mark is used as a literal translation of the rhetorical meaning “To whom can God be compared?”. In the Book of Revelation St. Michael is described as “one of the chief princes,” and leader of the forces of heaven in their triumph over the powers of hell.

Our Newcomers (Refugees) have finally arrived safely in Canada!

After years of planning, endless communications, meetings, concerns and prayers, all 5 of our expected family members have arrived safely! We are so pleased and
relieved! On behalf of the parish, we extend our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the refugee committee members who made this possible for the family. We especially thank Angelo Favretto, his wife, Jane and her parents, Karmel and Elizabeth, and Frances McKee for their efforts prior, and their continuing work now, in assisting the Newcomers as they begin to make Canada their new home. We hope to organize a celebration to bring our parish family together with our Newcomer Family in the near future; stay tuned for further details!
