St. Cecilia’s Church Marian Prayer Group

The Marian Prayer group continues to meet in St. Cecilia`s Church on Tuesday evening at 7:45 p.m.  Everyone is welcome to attend, especially during this month of May.  Please join us in our prayers!

Hail Virgin, dearest Mary!
Our lovely Queen of May!
O spotless, blessed Lady,
Our lovely Queen of May.
Your children, humbly bending,
Surround your shrine so dear;
With heart and voice ascending,
Sweet Mary, hear our pray’r.

May is the Month of Mary

The Holy Rosary by age old tradition has shown itself particularly effective as a prayer which brings the family together.  Individual family members, in turning their eyes towards Jesus, also regain the ability to look one another in the eye, to communicate, to show solidarity, to forgive one another and to see their covenant of love renewed in the Spirit of God.

– John Paul II

Learn how to pray the Rosary, and pray as a family at home:

The Rosary Apostolate in the Schools is seeking volunteers (male or female) who have devotion to the Mother of God and who are willing to visit our high schools and elementary schools to pray the Rosary with the children once a month.  Training will be provided.

Together, we can work WONDERS!

Working wonders for our faith…

Men from all walks of life have decided to respond to God’s call to dedicate their lives to His service and the salvation of souls. They come from different backgrounds, skill sets, ethnic communities, ages and economic situations. At ShareLife-funded agencies such as Serra House, Redemptoris Mater, and St. Augustine’s Seminary, they undergo extensive theological education and practical field training. Through ShareLife, you are helping sustain the vocations for priesthood and inspire discernment for God’s call. In 2012, ShareLife helped support over 70 priests and seminarians in their formation studies.

“Growing Together in Faith”

We invite all parishioners to join in celebrating Catholic Education Week 2013, which runs from May 5-10. For more than 160 years, Ontario’s publicly funded Catholic schools have been integrating our faith into all aspects of school life, empowering one another to serve as faithful disciples. We celebrate the distinctive contribution that Catholic schools make, giving thanks and offering our prayers for all those who diligently nurture this precious gift. For more information about Catholic Education Week or to find your local school board, visit or the Archdiocese of Toronto online at: .

Coins for Life

A BIG THANK YOU to all the parishioners who saved their ‘coins for life’ during Lent.  $1040.00 was collected! By putting aside your loose change, you are helping support the many pro-life initiatives that spread awareness and give a voice to the unborn. All proceeds from Coins for Life help fund the National March for Life, LifeChain, 40 Days for Life and much more!

Spaghetti  and Meatballs Dinner of April 25th!

We collected $780.00 from the sales of the dinner and raffles, and all for our Restoration Fund!  Thank you to all the volunteers who assisted with the event!  A very special thank you to Rob Tuzi for his great job advertising, organizing, and running the event!  Thank you to all for coming out and supporting the event, especially the young families from our school community!

Sunday Smile

For the pastor’s 50th birthday, the congregation decided to give him a new suit.
He was so touched by the gift that the following Sunday he stood before everyone and, with tears in his eyes, announced, “Today I am preaching to you in my birthday suit.”
